This policy explains what information North Star collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and how it is protected. It covers both the people who use our dashboard and the advertising account data we access on our clients' behalf.
With your explicit authorization, we access advertising data from third-party platforms through their official APIs:
This data describes advertising accounts and their performance. We do not collect the personal information of individuals who viewed or clicked on your advertisements, and we do not receive customer lists, contact records, or audience membership data.
We store OAuth access and refresh tokens that permit access to the advertising accounts you authorize. These tokens are encrypted at rest, are never displayed in our interface, are never written to logs, and are never shared with anyone. You can revoke them at any time from your Google or Meta account settings, which immediately ends our access.
Standard server logs including IP address, browser type, timestamps, and pages requested. These are used for security and troubleshooting and are retained for 30 days.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing this service.
We use an AI language model provided by Anthropic to interpret advertising performance data and produce written explanations and recommendations. Aggregated performance figures and campaign, ad group, ad, and keyword names from your advertising accounts are transmitted to Anthropic for this processing.
What we do not send: your login credentials, your OAuth tokens, your billing information, or the personal information of any individual.
The AI does not calculate the metrics you see. All figures displayed in the dashboard are computed by our own systems directly from data retrieved from the advertising platforms. The AI's role is limited to interpretation and drafting.
The AI cannot change your advertising accounts. Every change is proposed to a human, reviewed, and applied only after explicit approval.
North Star's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We use the following service providers, and only for the purposes stated:

Data is stored in the United States. We protect it with encryption in transit (HTTPS), encryption of authorization tokens at rest, role-based access controls, isolation between client accounts, and audit logging of every change made to an advertising account.
No system is perfectly secure. We do not claim otherwise. If a breach affects your data, we will notify you promptly.

This is a business service. It is not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
